WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2010 Preview at Kombo

Thursday, September 3rd, 2009

A little over a week ago, I had the opportunity to be flown out to Los Angeles by THQ to check out their newest WWE game, Smackdown vs. Raw 2010. And following that, I got to attend the Biggest Event of the Summer, SummerFestSlam.

And after getting back, I had to write about what I saw and what I head. You can check out the full preview over at Kombo. It’s a doozy, but I hope it is both informative and entertains fellow WWE fans.

And I stand by my statement: this is the LittleBigPlanet of WWE games.

  1. Nintendo Alters Metroid Prime Trilogy Dialogue – While it kind of sucks that Nintendo would see fit to edit out such a minor curse word in a T-rated game, I’ll be honest: I don’t even remember him saying it. I guess it failed to leave a lasting impression on me.

Of course, if any Nintendo franchise should be allowed to say “damn,” it’s Metroid.

Go, Green Ranger, Go Go!

Just a little late to the party on this one by about a week, but as my wife was setting the alarm on the clock-radio, we heard the DJ mention the name of Jason David Frank. Or rather, “Jason David F–” before my wife switched it off, we looked at each other, and she switched it back on.

Thankfully, it’s not another celebrity death, although I’m sure there are those who would debate Frank’s status as a celebrity. Regardless of how you feel there, it appears that he has joined the world of mixed martial arts.

  1. PDP Unveils New Super Mario Bros. Wii Remote Controller Shells – As cool as these are, I’m not quite sure that they’re a “must have” for me. Either way, I think I’ll avoid GameStop where purchasing them might be concerned.

The Daily ‘Shroom – 8/25/09

Tuesday, August 25th, 2009

Aaaaaand, look who’s back! SummerFestSlam was a blast, and the upcoming WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2010 looks to be incredibly awesome. I’ll be writing about that for Kombo soon, and will link to it from here once that’s done. Of course, it will have to be done around my regular news chores; I figure I’ll have it done this weekend, if not before (I hope).

And now, the news:

  1. Design Travis Touchdown’s T-Shirt for No More Heroes 2 – Pretty much just what the title says. Anyone here got the chops to make it happen?

  1. The big story of the day? Why, that could only be one thing: the PlayStation 3 is now affordable! That is, assuming you haven’t already blown all your money on an Xbox 360, a Wii, a DS, maybe a PSP, and games for them all.

Okay, since no one objected (and I received one vote of active encouragement), here are the stories I posted over at Kombo today.

  1. UDON Announces the Art Archive Anthology from Ace Attorney – First, UDON brings us Street Fighter, then Mega Man Zero, and now they’re hitting us with three months of artsy Capcom goodness with Mega Man: Official Complete Works in September, The Art of Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney in October, and Mega Man X: Official Complete Works in November.

Mario & Luigi 3 Preview Up

Thursday, January 15th, 2009

Arriving in Japan next month is the DS RPG Mario & Luigi 3, which is still a surprising title to be carrying at this point. In any case, new screens, story details, and gameplay information have been revealed across a few sites, but for your surfing convenience, I’ve compiled them all for you right here on Kombo. So enjoy the preview, and let’s hope that this one surpasses its predecessors.
