A bore is a man who deprives you of solitude without providing you with company. -- Gian Vincenzo Gravina

The Daily ‘Shroom – 8/18/09

  1. The big story of the day? Why, that could only be one thing: the PlayStation 3 is now affordable! That is, assuming you haven’t already blown all your money on an Xbox 360, a Wii, a DS, maybe a PSP, and games for them all.
  2. Speaking of which, while Sony is making things better for customers, Microsoft is making things worse by shipping newer Xbox 360 Elites without HD cables.
  3. Along with some new character art, there are some rumors amiss regarding who and what may be in Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games. GoNintendo, however, has vouched for Bowser Jr. and Silver the Hedgehog making an appearance.
  4. What does Goichi “Suda 51″ Suda have planned for the PlayStation 3? It isn’t No More Heroes, that’s for sure.
  5. Europe is getting a cool downloadable in their version of Animal Crossing for the Wii. I hope it comes here.
  6. Thanks to Terminal Reality, High Voltage Software is developing for more than just the Wii, now.
  7. E3 revealed a new Metal Gear for the PSP with four Snakes. How exactly does that work? Famitsu explains.
  8. “When will people learn? You don’t tug on Superman’s cape, you don’t spit into the wind, you don’t pull the mask off the old Lone Ranger, and you don’t insult Dragon Quest fans in the middle of Akihabara, especially if you’re a politician.”
  9. I’ve been looking forward to BrĂ¼tal Legend, but I doubt I’ll get to buy it upon release. Fortunately, it seems there will be a handy-dandy demo to tide me over.
  10. I’m really looking forward to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Smash-Up on the Wii. If you’re looking forward to it, too, except for the Wii part, then you may just be in luck. Unless you ditched your PlayStation 2, that is.
  11. Finally, the Nintendo Channel has updated, and Retro Studios has talked a bit about the Metroid Prime games.
