The Daily ‘Shroom – 1/10/07
- Good news for Sonic and comic fans!
Over on the Bumbleking Comics Forums, Ian “Potto” Flynn has announced that Archie Comics will once again be taking part in the annual Free Comic Book Day on the 5th of May this year.
Not only will there be a free, all-new Little Archie story titled “Legend of the Lost Lagoon,” but True Blue and his Crew also have their own all-new story by Ian Flynn titled “Unburying the Hatchet.”
What could be better than Dr. Eggman’s killer robot, Metal Sonic? How about the real thing! What has turned Sonic against his friends in Knothole, and who among our heroes has to power to stop the true blue hero-gone-bad?
The cool styling of Tracey Yeardley! has the task of pencils, with Jim Amash taking care of the inks.
Oh, and of course, an all-new cover by none other than Patrick “Spaz” Spaziante.
Don’t miss it!
- Press The Buttons today clarified that MSNBC are jerks for leading us to false conclusions, as Blockbuster will continue game rentals, they’re just ditching subsidiaries.
Does that include GameRush, though? Or just that Rhino thing I barely even heard of and never saw?
- After announcing that they met their shipping targets for the PS3, Sony’s stock rose 6 percent.
Well, sort of.
They nailed the US, but failed the Japan.
- Get into gaming. The work aspect of it.
- Want to get into the games industry? Of course you do. If you live (or can get to) the Seattle, Washington area, the Game Employment & Education Conference could be your ticket into gaming. Held February 24 at the Meydenbauer Center in Bellevue, Washington, the GEC promises educational lectures, networking opportunities and even the chance for recruitment.
- IGN has details on the Civil War finale, and “The Confession.”
On the upside, despite the finale being delayed, they’re adding extra pages to it at no extra cost, which is something I’m down with. Follow the link for the as-yet unseen cover… pretty wild, intense stuff.
I can’t wait to see how this turns out.
- Following recent events at the Slamdance Guerilla Gamemaker competition surrounding the removal of finalist Super Columbine Massacre RPG, and two developers withdrawing their entries, three more have followed suit.
Of the 14 original finalists, only 8 now remain. Will it stop there?
Maybe, maybe not, as half the remaining finalists took part in an open letter to the organizers over at Grand Text Auto (heh).
- Um, Sony wins an Emmy for… something. Apparently.
And Nintendo won, too. Maybe.
- Swedes say Sonic is in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, but what do they know?
More than us, perhaps?
- If making music and DDR are your thing, well, this might be, too.
- …did Dell score a 1up?
