Maybe just everyone interested in a 360 or PS3 has (or wants) an HDTV. I don’t know, wish I could find numbers… But one thing people have to keep in mind is that Nintendo is aiming for a broader audience, which mostly either doesn’t have HDTV or doesn’t understand it.
With the GameCube, they eventually dropped support for the component out from the system, their reason being that a ridiculously small percentage of GameCube owners actually used it. After the system dropped support, the online store stopped selling the cables, too (which was the only place to get them, it seemed — but I had a hard time finding component cables for ANY system). I mean, they still sell Game Boy Color battery covers, but they won’t sell these GameCube cables!! But you know, as upset as I was, I seemed to be in the distinct minority. My guess is that Nintendo’s done the homework with the numbers. It’s saving them money, and in turn, saving the consumer money.
I helped my folks get a new TV for their living room, and in return they gave me their old LCD TV. I thought it was HD (I have the manual… somewhere), but upon closer inspection, I’m not sure. And it’s not even that old… about two years or so.

Well yes, we did get our own set a few months ago, after a looong wait for the properly priced product to come out. That we have and the old projector that my brother gave to us.
We got it for several reasons, such as future HD-support and watching movies and DVDs in wide screen and with component video. Same goes for future consoles and PC-connections.
So it’l likely that I’m gonna get the component cable for Wii, but only if NoE does it right this time!
Just recently after I gave up on ever getting that cable for the Cube, I’ve learned that PAL versions wouldn’t even support Progressive Scan!

3. Thank You!
5. Fan-friggin-Service!
6. O.O
9. Teh Old (since I’m a local member of TASvideos myself)
10. Saw it a long while ago, and it’s totally smex.
I still don’t have a good enough TV that supports proper NTSC colors yet, so my Nintendo-related games are all black & white. Mysteriously enough, Playstation 2 handles Imported games flawlessly…

I have an Xbox 360 and do not have an HDTV nor am I able to get one in the near future.
I sincerely hope new titles aren’t only playable in HD.
Not a single HDTV in our entire family.
