The Daily ‘Shroom
- From the looks of things, Miis can do more than just tennis or Wario Ware.
I wonder how long before we have people with afros in the plaza saying “pool’s closed.”
Good news is, it looks a little more robust than Joystiq’s version. Colored eyes, at least.
Also, Wired’s Lore Sj?berg has commentary on it.
- Immersion calls out Sony regarding the combination of tilt-tech and force-feedback, saying it’s not only possible, but easily affordable as well, despite Sony’s claims of a “strategic move.”
- It appears that GameStop might be taking Wii preorders soon.
- Go Nintendo has a nice update, filled to the brim with new images and information about the newly rechristened Yoshi’s Island DS.
- Good news, bad news.
This week at Target, if you buy a pink DS Lite, then 100% of the profits will go to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
The downside is, how many people want a pink DS Lite? I mean, it might make a good gift, especially if you want to get a girlfriend who’s not normally into this stuff into gaming, but…
On the other hand, maybe more than I realize? You all tell me.
- Sigh, why are there idiots like this that make us all look bad?

You know, a pink DS wouldn’t be too bad. My store (CompUSA) just recieved two blacks and two pinks. I bought my white DS at Target, but I’m going to buy my store’s replacement warranty and switch it out for a pink. Why? Hell, it’s actually a nice color of pink. I sit now with a bland looking DS in my hands, I want to change it up. Black is far too common, thanks to the PSP.
Any who, I like pink ^_^

#2: I called out Sony before Immersion did. Their defense of the lack of rumble is just bordering on the insane at this point. The Wiimote has tilt, gyroscope, and rumble for $40. The Sixaxis only has tilt, and is expected to retail for $50 here, because adding rumble would make it too expensive. Hilarious.

I certainly have nothing against the pink DS Lite, but I wouldn’t buy it myself simply because I’m not crazy about the color. If I were broke, and someone got me the pink one as a gift, I’d love playing it. But if I have the choice, and with the colors available now, I’d go for a color I like better!
I can understand not wanting to get a black one because the color’s common. Sometimes that’s a concern for me, but not in this case. But I WOULD like to hold out for the Pokemon edition black DS Lite, so I could get the color I want and have it be a little special.

“I certainly have nothing against the pink DS Lite, but I wouldn?t buy it myself simply because I?m not crazy about the color.” Well exactly. x_x
Anyway Sony’s lack of rumble is a big hit for the controller/console, when Xbox 360 has a full functionining controller -with- rumble, and the analog stick in the right place, and costs $35-40 without a battery.
