The Daily ‘Shroom – 11/16/06
Yeah, things are a bit slim today. Not that I mind too much.
- Ok, so now I need to learn to play Chess.
…though I think a version of Risk with TransFormers might be cool.
- Atomic Fire reports that Capcom of Japan has updated their 20th Anniversary of Rockman website, featuring a number of things added and coming.
- Maxim has decided that Marvel’s Civil War is one of the most awesome things of the year.
Well, duh.
- Never doubt the potential of how huge the monster in your pocket can be.
Yep, Pokemon is still big, and it’s even beaten Mario to the three million mark.
- It’d been said before, but I guess now it’s officially officialized: Reggie is going to be at the Times Square Wii Launch Party. And now I know the details, hu-freakin’-zah!
- Looks like if you know you’re going to be able to secure a Wii, then there’s no reason you can’t go ahead and get some games for it, in advance.

1. Heck, I can teach you to play chess. To be good at chess? I guess we can try to learn that at the same time.
4. Of course! I mean, not to rain on Mario’s parade, but these are the Pokemon games fans have been waiting for. It’s got tweaks to the system that only fans would appreciate (attempting to create better balance, too), but it’s still accessible enough for newcomers, AND it lets you import all your old Pokemon from the GBA games. Plus, in addition to importing your Pokemon, simply having the cart in the DS’ second slot allows you to catch particular Pokemon (depends on which version you insert). Plus, INTERNET PLAY.
It is, quite possibly, the ultimate Pokemon game. Question, though… Do they lump both versions together when comparing sales with other games? It may not be fair, since a number of people end up buying both versions. But then, counting the versions separately may not be fair either, since obviously a lot of people will only buy one of the two…
5. Awesome!! But just one Wii? How early do you think you have to line up to be first in line? We’ll support you if you wanna shoot for that!
6. Yesterday I was playing the demo machine, and they tried to sell me on some games. All they had was Trauma Center, Billy & Mandy, and Happy Feet, though… Trauma Center is cool and all, but I was hoping for Marvel: Ultimate Alliance, at least. But I figured I’d just wait, so Twilight Princess can officially be my first game for the system…

1. Agree with Shinkuu here. Chess basics are very easy and fun to learn. To master the game is a whole different story, which I’ve personally never really cared much for.
