The Examiner/MMN Revue for Wednesday, February 23rd

Wednesday, February 23rd, 2011

Okay, I kind of slept through last night’s update… so here’s a double-dose for you.

From the Canada Nintendo Examiner:

Nintendo 3DS launch titles revealed (Update) – Now you can know for sure whether or not you should get in line on March 26th.

A closer look at the Satelleview and BS Zelda games – We mentioned this a couple of days ago in speaking of The Legend of Zelda‘s 25th anniversary, but 16-Bit Gems has provided this much more comprehensive look at these rarest of rare Zelda titles.

Black/White Nintendo DSi Pokémon bundles officially announced – Just in case you weren’t sure; these bundles do not seem to be exclusive to Canada nor Toys R Us.

From The Mega Man Network:

Mega Man Battle Network Official Complete Works Scheduled for March Release – Rumors of a delay have been greatly exaggerated (for now).

Blockman DASH Needs YOUMinecraft plus Mega Man Legends sounds like a winning formula, but development of this has hit a snag. See what you can do to get things rocking and rolling again.

The Examiner/MMN Revue for Monday, February 21st

Tuesday, February 22nd, 2011

From the Toronto Video Game Examiner:

Games shipping the week of February 21st, 2011

From the Canada Nintendo Examiner:

The Nintendo Download – 2/21/11 – While there are some other titles to be had, we’d like just the Fax(anadu), ma’am.

Bundle up with Nintendo DSi and Pokémon Black/White at Toys R Us Canada – Whether or not the U.S. will get these remains to be seen, but wow, that March 6th release date sure seems awful close for no official announcement, doesn’t it?

The Legend of Zelda turns 25 – o/~ It’s The Legend of Zelda, and it’s really rad…

Know what else would be really rad? If Nintendo found a good way to celebrate it. Sure, having Ocarina of Time 3D (meh) and Skyward Sword is cool and all, but like Super Mario Bros., it would be nice to have something which really celebrates the roots of the series. And we’ve got just the thing…

From The Mega Man Network:

Zero as Your Minimate – It’s funnier if you can imagine Zero with an Australian accent.

X Sitting Pretty in MVC3 Fan Popularity – Maybe we’ll finally get to see a battle between Mega Man X and X-Men… Mega? Um… well, you see what I was trying to do there, right?

The Examiner/MMN Revue for Monday, February 7th

Tuesday, February 8th, 2011

Here’s what’s been happening lately. Also, 3DS thoughts to come soon.

From the Toronto Video Game Examiner:

THQ brings the fantasy warfare of WWE All Stars to Facebook with matchmaking App – Hulk Hogan vs. John Cena! Andre the Giant vs. The Big Show! Jim Ross vs. Michael Cole! Well, maybe not the last one, but we can still hope.

Games shipping the week of February 7th, 2011

From the Canada Nintendo Examiner:

Buy Pokémon Black and White versions early to catch Victini – Pyro, psychic… this Pokémon is a blast at parties, but there’s only one way to get it…

The Nintendo Download – 2/7/11 – One word: S.C.A.T.

From The Mega Man Network:

Leviathan Garage Kit to Grace Wonder Fest 2011 – You’ll have to pay top-dollar to bring this lovely lady home…

Leviathan Garage Kit Revisited – …but look at these pictures, and try to honestly say it’s not worth considering.

MML3 Devroom Event 5: The Easter Egg – Can any trick beat kicking a can into the Jetlag Bakery for money? If you can think of one, then tell Capcom!

Mega Man Olympics, FINAL STAGE!!!!!!!! – Rockman vs. Mega Man– whoever loseWeight Exercises, we all win.

Newsarama Talks Archie’s Mega Man with Ian Flynn – With new Spaziante art!

Mega Man 9 Remix Project Not Dead Afterall

Kotobukiya Reveals Zero as Next Model Kit – What, no Bass? Well, if we get the Four Guardians, maybe Copy X, then they might be forgiven…

Rockman Dot Straps the Next Big Thing – We always knew that Rock was a strapping young man, but this is ridiculous!

Plot Any Course to Victory with the Mega Map II T-Shirt – The simplified version just has the Metal Blade pointing at everything.

A Parade of More Wonder Fest Garage Kits – Now, who among you can honestly say that you wouldn’t want a disembodied Sigma head sitting on your desk? Not a single one of you.

The Examiner/MMN Revue for Monday, December 27th

Tuesday, December 28th, 2010

Sorry this is a little late, but I was out getting an MRI. But now fun is back, so let the party begin!

From the Toronto Video Game Examiner:

Games shipping the week of December 27th, 2010 – A whopping two games! And both are Xbox LIVE Arcade titles!

After WWE TLC comes DLC for Smackdown vs. Raw 2011 – I posted this one before, but check out the comment I received since. All I can really say is “…what?” Seriously, what on Earth did I say about David Otunga and Jennifer Hudson that could be considered so offensive?

From the Canada Nintendo Examiner:

The Nintendo Download – 12/27/10 – Virtual Console titles, ahoy!

Nintendo announces release date for Pokémon Black and White Versions – Marching to a Nintendo DS near you.

From The Mega Man Network:

Mega Man and X Tennis Battle is Totally Canon – This is the new official continuity now; there can be no other.

For Your Viewing Pleasure: The Anime & Manga Realm of Mega Man – The Otakon 2010 spectacular is coming your way! Plus, check out how attendees fared in the Mega Man 9 Endless Battle Tournament.

Mega Man Olympics, STAGE 3!!! – Japan vs. America, Rockman vs. Mega Man.

Roll is On Sale – It has to be said: ever since Kotobukiya started producing Rockman kits, they’ve been on a Roll.

Will April Showers Bring Mega Powers? – Looks like Archie Comics will be releasing Mega Man #1 a little sooner than expected. Incidentally, this isn’t the most mysterious teaser you’ll find– it makes one wonder why they’re being so hush-hush about what this is. I mean, the outline comes right from the teaser cover image they released a few months ago…

The Examiner/MMN Revue for Monday, November 22nd

Tuesday, November 23rd, 2010

A little behind on things… let’s play catch-up.

From the Toronto Video Game Examiner:

Toronto video game deals for the week of November 19th to 25th, 2010 (updated)

Games shipping the week of November 21st, 2010 – It’s on like you-know-who.

From the Canada Nintendo Examiner:

The Nintendo Download – 11/22/10 – Virtual Console update, woo! It looks like a spiritual successor to Joe & Mac: Caveman Ninja, but without any idea how good it is.

Orange and green Nintendo DSi bundles coming to Canada – If holding out for a 3DS isn’t an option, maybe one of these would make a nice gift this holiday.

Who are the new starter Pokémon for Black & White? – Well, you may know who they are, but do you know what they’ll be called outside of Japan?

From The Mega Man Network:

Rockman Online Demo Details – This actually just kind of retreads on most of what we said last week, but with a little more clarity in spots.

The TMMN Megacast #003: The End of Tabby!? – I still don’t know what the title means, and neither Heat Man nor Tabby won’t tell me.

Yet More Rockman Online Details – For one thing, it’s not “massive” any more.

Jazwares Is At It Again – More Mega Man toys? It should be interesting to see what they’ve devised this time.

The Ultimate Uncovering – Fun fact: Zero was going to have his own armor upgrade in Mega Man X4.
