"I would suggest that it's not the medium, but the quality of perception and expression, that determines the significance of art. But what would a cartoonist know?" -- Bill Watterson

The Daily ‘Shroom

A little early. But you don’t mind, do you? Nah, didn’t think so. Here we go!

  1. There goes Capcom.

If the publicity Sony’s gotten for the past while is any indication of Kramer’s work, Capcom is in for a rough road ahead.

If not, hey, then congrats to Kramer for getting out.

  2. Microsoft is pressing on in their pursuit of making the dream of a Halo movie a reality. This time, Warner Bros. and Paramount are the suitors.

What’s funny to me is the notation of New Line being discluded because of legal woes with Peter Jackson and Fran Walsh. Last I heard, New Line was owned by AOL-Time Warner.

Then again, I thought I heard something about AOL and Time-Warner splitting, but I don’t know anything else there, so who knows?

  3. Speaking of Halo, IGN has picked up some information about the third installment of the series, as well as some killer bonuses.

Collector’s Edition? Legendary Edition? A Spartan helmet included?

In my entire existance, my only real experience as a Halo player was probably about five minutes or so at the Halo 2 launch here in T.O., and this stuff sounds pretty cool, even to me.

Won’t see a new Mega Man coming with a helmet. Maybe a Mario game with a hat, though.

    Joystiq also has more details.

  4. So Capcom is putting a stock-trading game on the DS.

You know what, though? Two years ago, if you told me that one of my favorite games had you playing a lawyer in a courtroom dramedy adventure, I’d have told you to check the next room for your brain before slamming the door on your head.

In other words, I’m willing to give it a shot.

  5. KFWii?

A user on YouTube shows off a video featuring the Wii… with tons of different skins. Keep an eye out for some other neat and not-so neat ones, including McDonald’s, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles(old and new), and even Death Note.

I’ll take mine in white, though… and extra crispy.

  6. What do Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Underdog, Gremlins, Hellboy, Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children, Star Wars, Evangelion, and more all have in common?

The US Fall Toy Show 2006, with lots of pictures! Check ‘em out.

Wasn’t is the Japanese end of Sony that was making the company look bad?

  2. LBD Nytetrayn Says:

Largely, but it seems to come from everywhere but Australia.

SOE is also incredibly bad, from what I’ve heard from my roomate. Pretty much with Star Wars Galaxies, their MMO, which had attracted a lot of older players who just liked crafting and the slower gameplay, they decided, with no surveys or polls to change it into a more action-y type game. On top of that, they had forums dedicated to each class in the game, which were run by player correspondents and when they did this change they didn’t bother to tell on of the player correspondents that his class was getting the ax.

So yeah, this could be a bad move on Capcom’s part.
