The Industry’s Favorite Sad Story
The Stiq may be full of Joy, but their link to a story at 2old2play.com regarding the fall of SEGA is still enough to elicit a slight sigh from those who favor the old days of the Super NES vs. the Genesis.
A neat retrospective through the eyes of someone who saw their dreams dashed by ineptitude, it is truly a tale for the ages…
An interesting point is the excitement described upon seeing his Genesis for the first time, after the Master System failed him so. Perhaps the chronology is off, and this was after SEGA started their big anti-Nintendo push. That, or it goes to show that for a lot of gamers, graphics > all.
Not to bash SEGA or Genesis, I’m a proud owner alongside a Dreamcast. Just saying that in the earliest going of the Genesis before Sonic, was it REALLY that great, especially if a Master System let you down? Serious question from the ignorant here.
On another note, after reading this, I can honestly say I want a house made of black bricks with white cement. That’d be awesome.
