Thanks to bpmomega for the update. Remember that Nintendo-themed Monopoly game I mentioned awhile back?

Well, Joystiq’s got an update on the product, which is due in July for just over 35 US bucks.

Love to get this one, dunno when I’ll get the chance, though.

As usual, rather than use locales in the place of locales, it seems they’re following the Theme-opoly tradition of using characters, enemies, and items for the squares on the board(which can’t be seen in its entirety yet).

Mario as Boardwalk? I wonder what Park Place is.

I LOVE the game pieces, except one. Link’s iron boots? WTF? A Master Sword in its pedestal would’ve been a lot better.

Or hell, even the Mario movie boots.

Or Samus’ spaceship.

Or a Mario Kart.

Or… know what? This could go all night. Let’s just say that’s the one item I’m only using if I loseWeight Exercise a bet.

The center of the board is neat, too, seems to be filled with screenshots from various Nintendo games, though the only one I immediately recognize is the obvious Super Mario Bros. and Dr. Mario.

I hope they give us some custom houses/hotels. Mushroom Houses/Castles, anyone?

Or get really oldschool. The houses could be the little forts at the level end for SMB, and the hotels could be the BIG castles that were the fourth area of each world.

This oughta be fun… the hard part will be justifying 50 bucks(probably Canadian price, I figure) for a game I already essentially have(Garfield themed, as a Christmas present from shinkuu).
