The MMN Revue for Wednesday, November 17th
I had some other business to take care of today, so no Examiner posts. However, for Mega Man fans, and particularly those interested in Rockman Online, there’s plenty to report from The Mega Man Network:
More Robot Master Sightings in Rockman Online (Updated) – Some images caught from the G-Star Rockman Online booth as it was being set up. Mega Man Killers, Robot Masters, and Proto Man, oh my!
New Rockman Online Trailer – Another teaser, once again fully animated. Of course, those who saw the last one will likely have no problem with that– especially as there are also other videos featuring gameplay. Plus, some further story details have surfaced, if only a few.
Rockman Online First Gameplay Look, Art – Numerous screens from the game, as well as some art for two enemies. One looks like a version of Planty and Iworm, while the other looks like a more high-tech, X-styled version of Sumatran.
Rockman Online Gameplay Trailers (Updated) – And here is the best part: the actual gameplay. The first video shows off the characters interacting in a 3D hub-like environment and the X, Zero, and Duo types teaming up to take on a 2.5D stage. The second video shows off a Zero type taking on a stage headed by a rather large Sting Chameleon, and an X type going after a radically redesigned Pharaoh Man.
Legends 3 Ladies Wallpaper – Finally, some new PC desktop wallpaper has come out of the Mega Man Legends 3 Devroom of Capcom Unity, featuring Legends‘ three leading ladies: Roll, Tron, and newcomer Sephira. It’s the same as the Japanese wallpaper, only now it sports the English logo.
Going back to Rockman Online, I’m loving what I’m seeing here; it reminds me of why I love Mega Man so much in the first place, though I find it difficult to articulate why. It’s just a feeling which I haven’t felt in a really long time.
Or maybe it’s late-90′s Geocities fanfiction redux. A guilty pleasure of my youth, I’ll admit.
I would also just like to say: Yay, Nana!
It sounds like everyone around the world checking out these videos put a bit of a strain on the Korean servers hosting them (before Heat Man brought them to YouTube). Hopefully Capcom gets the message and gives this a wider release.
