The RipTen/Examiner/MMN Revue for Tuesday, August 24th
From RipTen:
THQ Announces WWE Video Games Portal, Community Website, Xbox Avatar Items, & More – All kinds of cool WWE stuff is coming from THQ, including an exclusive blog written by The Miz and Xbox LIVE Avatar items. I just wish the D-Generation X outfit featured the cowboy hat for the full effect. Hopefully that will come as an add-on.
Mortal Kombat HD Kollection on the Way? – Mortal Kombat‘s all today, Mortal Kombat all the way… Mortal Kombat‘s here to stay.
It’s just a rumor right now, but word is that before the latest Mortal Kombat hits next year, we could see a high-definition remake of the first two games, as well as Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3. I am down with this, so long as they can do something about even the easiest computer opponent being cheaper than a two-dollar whore on double-coupon discount day.
Spector Reveals More Behind the Mouse’s Non-Change in Epic Mickey – Were focus groups, fan outrage, or the spirit of Walt Disney himself the catalyst behind Warren Spector’s decision to remove the “Scrapper” and “Hero” versions of Mickey Mouse from his game? Not according to him; he accepts full responsibility, and told Nintendo Power exactly why.
From the Canada Nintendo Examiner:
What would you pay for a vintage NES game, mint-in-box? – Not what this guy is asking, unless I’m rich well beyond my needs. That said, there are a few games from back in the day I wouldn’t mind having mint, sealed copies of. In addition to those named within, I can also say I’d love a mint copy of E.T. for the Atari 2600– imagine holding in your hands a perfect (so to speak) copy of the game which brought an industry to its knees in America.
From The Mega Man Network:
Capcom Store Special on Mega Man Kubrick/1UP Bearbricks – Too rich for my blood, I’m sorry to say, but maybe some of you would appreciate the discounts and bonuses?
Mega Man vs. Street Fighter – Mega Man has apparently had it with all of these so-called “Street Fighters” hogging all the Capcom glory and appearing in crossovers with other companies. He’s going to show the World Warriors how they handle things oldschool. Well, older-school. Actually, they came out the same year, but he is supposed to be the unofficial mascot, dag-nabbit!
