The Daily ‘Shroom – 11/1/07
Hope everyone had a Happy Halloween! Next up: Thanksgiving. Well, in the US, anyway. Up here in Canada, it’s pretty much a straight shot to Christmas, as they gave their thanks a few weeks ago. Ah, to be home again. Pity my broke ass can’t afford it. Hopefully I’ll find something that pays and can go visit… well, probably next year sometime.
Oh well, on with the news!
InFormers: Robots in the News
Assorted Mushrooms
- Mirage Studios has signed a deal with Etchstar to allow them to laser-engrave images of the Ninja Turtles on various kinds of portable electronic equipment (iPods, laptops, cell-phones, etc.) starting this December or January. Plus, they’ll also be able to sell pre-etched products as well.
- If you’re interested in the goings-on with the whole Hollywood writer’s strike, then Mark Evanier’s blog is a good place to keep tabs on it.
Meanwhile, IGN looks at how it could affect some of your favorite shows.
More power to the writers, I say. Most of what I watch is in reruns or on DVD, anyway. Except WWE. And I’m not even sure they count.
- I quit caring years ago, but hey, X-Files 2 is due out next July. Wonder if the movie will do any good without the TV show to back it up?
Video Power
- So, Capcom decided to move Monster Hunter 3 over to the Wii from the PlayStation 3, right? Thus turning fans’ (of which there are many in Japan) investments into $600 paperweights.
But hey, it’s ok: they apologized. So it’s all good, right?
- Before E3, PAX, GDC, or any of these names we read about today for the latest and breaking announcements in video games, there was CES. And now, the people who run it want a bigger piece of that action. But with all the shows we have now, surrounding a de-emphasized E3 and dozens of press gatherings to boot, will there really be anything left for CES?
- Funny. No sooner than Bandai gets the rights to the Dragon Ball Z toys back then Atari stands on the verge of losing their game rights.
Maybe I spoke too soon yesterday about Bandai not doing the games… ugh, Ultimate Battle, anyone?
Can I at least have a good Videl figure now, please?
- On a related note, Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3 will hit Europe with a special edition.
- Smash Bros. DOJO!! updates once more, with an update that might’ve been more apt yesterday: Meta Knight’s Final Smash!
