All successful newspapers are ceaselessly querulous and bellicose. They never defend anyone or anything if they can help it; if the job is forced on them, they tackle it by denouncing someone or something else. -- HL Mencken

So What’s The Big Deal?

Toys R Us (in the US, screw Canada, natch) is having a special on DS games: buy two, get the third free.

And not the crappy stuff, either (well, not JUST the crappy stuff). No, there’s New Super Mario Bros., Super Mario 64 DS, Super Princess Peach, Tetris DS, Nintendogs, Sonic Rush, Animal Crossing, Trauma Center, Mario Kart, Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time, and those are just on the first two pages.

Other good stuff includes Yoshi’s Island DS, Phoenix Wright 2, Hotel Dusk, Lost In Blue 2, Spectrobes, Chocobo Tales, the DS internet browser, Custom Robo, Lunar Knights, Final Fantasy III, Kirby Squeak Squad, Club House Games, Elite Beat Agents, Pokemon Ranger, Star Fox Command, Metroid Prime Hunters, Cooking Mama, Pokemon Blue Mystery Dungeon, and some Brain games, too.

Yeah, not all are gems, at least not to everyone, but the value of the deal sort of makes some (Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time, for example) seem more appealing if you were going to pick some up anyway. Whatever the case, it seems that if you’ve been holding off, then your ship has come in (unless you’re broke).
